More Images from Yap-San Diego Ancestral House

Quite a sizable collection of antiquities are on display at the Yap-San Diego Ancestral House, located in the Parian District of Cebu, along Mabini Street at the northern end of Colon.

This collection clues us in on the lifestyle of the people from a distant past, this particular one was where a barangay captain lived with his wife and their children. On site are religious statues, a good number of lamps and candelabras, glasswares and wood works, and paintings. More interestingly, there's a painting of Parian - a depiction of how it once was back in the days (see second to the last photo).

This ancestral house turned museum is open daily (even on weekends) from 9 AM to 6 PM with an entrance fee of P50 ($1.14).

This is the Eye in the Sky!

This one's a rather scary statue of the Holy Child. It's scowling.

There is so much religious items on display, it might as well be a Religious Museum.

Parian during its heyday. This was how the Chinese section of the barangay looked.

I think there's too much religious artifacts which underlines the extent of religiosity of its previous occupants.
