Sunset at Manila Bay - A Spectacle Not to be Missed!

It has always been stuff of legends. As a child, I've always heard of its exquisite beauty - the sunset of Manila Bay. It took me years before I was finally able to witness this spectacle. I was after all a provincial kid. While I did frequent Manila every summer, watching the sunset was never among my parents' priority. The sunset wasn't going anywhere. It was always there so people didn't rush away to see it. This is a mistake.

This sunset inspires poetry, songs and romance. Unfortunately, parts of this stretch has turned into what Greenpeace has called "a reeking cesspool of sludge, human sewage, industrial waste and garbage". But all is not lost. There is still hope. In Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada's last years of office, he should hopefully be able to do something about the illegal settlers and the stench of urine.

If you're a foreign tourist, visiting the breakwater of Roxas Boulevard is a must. Be brave and taste your first balut here. There are ambulant vendors selling this native delicacy along this tourist strip.

This is the Eye in the Sky!

Golden hues and dramatic silhouettes as it sets on the horizon.

Hello, greetings and good wishes.

Lovely photos of amazing, beautiful, awe inspiring sun sets. Every sun set has its own beauty and no sunsets are the same.
Sunsets are God's marvels.

Best wishes

So true, Joseph. No sunsets are alike. I've always loved the concept of "rest" because there's another day coming; another day to be better.
