KL's LCCT Airport Part 2 - Shopping and Dining

As part of this blog's "Travel Survival Series", here's another post on LCCT, KL's award-winning low cost carrier terminal. This is the second part of two and this focuses on the pre-departure shops and food stalls/cafes. Let's say you haven't had a proper meal prior to taking that ride to the airport? Or maybe you forgot to get something for your favorite cousin or that special friend from your KL travels? The shops and cafes at the LCCT aren't such a bad place to remedy your dilemma. In fact, just after completing your immigration formalities and that last x-ray security check, there are about 4 or 5 shops directly facing the security machine. There's a toilet near the Dunkin' Donut shop too (and another one at the main boarding area down the escalator).

There are charging centers for your phones, laptops and iPads. The whole place has free wifi so if you're bored outta your wits, go online; facebook and tweet your miseries; dine away according to budget; buy that perfume that your brother is pestering you to buy; find that Lonely Planet book or that new JK Rowling novel at the book shop; purchase a dozen ref magnets or that doofy KL cap. Change those local currencies to your legal tender of choice en route to your next destination. There are a couple of banks - CIMB and Maybank - for that. There are a variety of options at the pre-departure hallway. There's a counter for document check. Be aware that some destinations require these document checks prior to boarding. Otherwise, you'd be denied boarding. Double check your boarding gate. They sometimes change it and you might miss the announcement from all the noise. Just make sure you know exactly when your boarding time is, or you just might miss your flight.

Please check-out our previous post about LCCT's Check-in Hall, shops, cafes and restaurants, Foreign Exchange, counters for sim cards (Tune sims are everywhere), Bus Bay at the LCCT. - http://eye-in-the-blue-sky.blogspot.com/2012/10/kls-lcct-airport-part-1-what-to-see.html

NOTE:

LCCT has ceased to exist as of 2014. It has been replaced by the new KLIA2 terminal located in the same vicinty where LCCT was. We are keeping this post as "souvenir" of the LCCT.

@ Olivia:

I like window shopping at airports too, but the items seem to be a bit pricier. :)

Airports have become huge impressive shopping malls. If you get 2-3 hours transit you can have a grand window shopping tour.

That's right. If only I were shopaholic, I'd have a grand time during these transits. :)
