Sometime July, I started noticing a rooster of wreaths filled with sunflowers hanging down Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3's high ceiling. Someone finally decided to "deck the halls" with a little more brightness and warmth. I liked the "clean gray" sheen previously but who in their right mind can complain about a more festive hallway? Upon my arrival from Maldives last September (2014), there were more accouterments: behemoth pots of greens and a giant floral bouquet on some of the unoccupied conveyors of the Baggage Claim area.
ACCOMMODATION: TRANSIT LOUNGE
Appended to this post is information on transit accommodation via capsule rooms a la Tokyo - or that Kabayan Hotel somewhere in near Baclaran. The Wings Transit Lounge, run by MKenko Spa, has rooms with 5 and 8 hourly rates to suit your budget. These rates include light meals. You can, in fact avail of a bed for 5 hours at PhP880; (about $18.70); a twin room for 2 at PhP1,600, a bunk for 3 persons at PhP2,100, or a family room for 4 persons at PhP2,600 ($55).
If you require longer staying hours, they have rates for 8 hours, then PhP200 additional charge per extended hour. Their rates include provisions for either light meal and/or shower (additional cost for shower). The rates are posted here so please DO NOT ask me for more than what's published. Call NAIA for additional information. I will not entertain further queries about Wings Transit Lounge. The information provided here is what I can share - and nothing else.
AVOID MARY GRACE CAFE
And just so you avoid delays, if you're taking a meal or snack at the Food Court, we feel we need this special mention. Avoid Mary Grace Cafe. The place is messy, the servers take forever to serve you and they forget orders.
